2.2. Design of the "Design" phase

2.2A Provide a tentative inquiry agenda and a method(s) in the "Design" phase. Refer to activities in the "Explore" phase to make the agenda and inquiry methods. Allow learners to negotiate their own agenda and methods with the suggested ones. After they decided, let them post their plan on the web. The information may need to be saved in My Work Space as well as in the Discussion Forum, sending it to the facilitator. In this way, one's research plan is shared with others as well as revisited whenever necessary.

2.2B Also, let learners revise their plan during the inquiry process. This flexibility helps learners update their inquiry plan and check their progress based on the plan. The screen shot below shows one example of the "Design" page. In the example, learners are required to develop a lesson plan using database within 5 weeks. The processes are designed to help learners to complete the overarching goal. If the learner is not an in-service teacher, he or she may change some activity to fit their situation (e.g., instead of teaching in their class, let them get an in-service teacher's review). In this case, the learner needs to negotiate with the facilitator since the change affects the "Explore" phase and the learner may need to find appropriate resources by him/herself to go through the activity.

Example (Screen shot)

Go to the Explore phase and review it.
